June Devo-Fight For Love

ok so on my FF5 fansite, Dance[RAWR]Dancers, i do a devotion every month, and i will be posting them on myspace as well as on here for anyone else who wants to read them =) i started these back in September, so if you want to see the previous ones you'll have to visit our blogs on our myspace. but starting with June you will be able to see them on both sites =)

So i've been thinking lately about how much a song can impact a person. Music is something that really connects to the soul. You know there's something powerful when your mom starts crying listening to a rap song by T-Bone in the middle of a concert (that's a whole different story though). My point is, different music and songs can identify a tough situation that we've been through. It speaks words when we are speechless. So when i was trying to think of something to right about this month, i thought what better way than to incorporate a song. Actually, i let my itunes do the choosing by putting it on shuffle. The song it came up with was "Fight For Love" by Disciple. If you want to read the lyrics, click here.
Proverbs 29:7 says, "The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern." This verse and this song go right along with each other. There are people who are ignorant, and dont know the difference from right and wrong. Some people dont have the ability, or they've never been taught. We (Christians) have been called by God to teach these people. If someone doesnt stand up for them, who will? we need to be examples of God, showing His love to others through our thoughts and actions. If you see someone being bullied, would you just walk by, or would you step in and intervene? We would all like to think we'd be the hero that stops it, but how could you really know until you're in that situation? I'd like to conclude with this: Don't expect people to come your way looking for help; be the one who looks for the helpless, the defenseless. Most of the time someone who is in need, is too afraid or shy to say so. Crack the shell and show God's love =)
